Grey Silo Ventures backs Revyve’s €24 million Series B to scale egg-replacement ingredients from yeast

Grey Silo Ventures, the Corporate Venture Capital arm of Cereal Docks Group, is proud to announce its participation in the €24 million Series B funding round of Revyve, a Dutch food-tech company developing clean-label, functional ingredients from yeast to replace eggs and additives in food products.

Spun out of Wageningen University, Revyve has pioneered a proprietary process to upcycle yeast: a by-product of the brewing industry, into high-performance ingredients that mimic the unique functionality of eggs.

The company’s solutions are already used in applications such as bakery, sauces, plant-based dairy, and meat alternatives, enabling manufacturers to reduce their reliance on animal-based ingredients and synthetic additives without compromising on texture or taste.

The round was co-led by ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund and Invest-NL, with additional support from Brabantse Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij (BOM), Lallemand Bio-Ingredients, and Grey Silo Ventures. Existing investors Oost NL and Royal Cosun also renewed their support.

We’re thrilled to support Revyve in this new chapter of growth,” said Giacomo Fanin, Managing Partner of Grey Silo Ventures. “Their ability to transform a natural by-product into a scalable ingredient with clean-label appeal and functional performance is a great example of the kind of circular innovation we want to champion. As food manufacturers face growing pressure to reduce costs, emissions, and additives, Revyve offers a compelling solution that ticks all three boxes.”

With the new funding, Revyve will expand the capacity of its production facility in Dinteloord to over 1,600 tons per year, enabling broader market reach and commercial scale. The company is already active in Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific, and will showcase its latest innovations this fall at Anuga (Cologne) and Food Ingredients Europe (Paris).

Food manufacturers are cutting back on eggs to offset increasing prices and reach sustainability targets, but replicating their unique functionality is crucial to maintaining the texture and mouthfeel consumers are used to,” said Cedric Verstraeten, CEO of Revyve. “This is exactly where our Yeast Proteins come in — providing an affordable and clean label solution for egg replacement or egg reduction. This round marks a tipping point for us: we now have the foundation to scale up and bring our ingredients to global markets.”
